Starring: This film is based loosely on the mainstream classic All about Eve. Hillary Summers is Brie, who begins as a celebrity-worshipping waitress, and by shrewdly using her pussy as a career-advancement tool eventually becomes a movie star. Jennifer Jordan is Diana, a fading movie star. Eric Edwards is Nicky, her husband and a film director. Laurien Dominique is Cassie, Diana's best friend. Kandi Barbour is Sabrina, a minor actress. Jake Teague is Simon, a cynical film critic. Hillary, in the title role, does a terrific all-around performance, and the other leads all shine.

First class. This is a period piece set in 1950, and the sets and costumes are both convincing and opulent (especially the women's underwear!). The script, acting, photography, sound, lighting, color, editing,and score leave nothing to be desired.

The sexual heat in this film comes from Brie. Her scenes are frequent, and she does them enthusiastically, even doing an anal. This scene,far from being gratuitous, shows Brie concluding an alliance with Simon in the back of his limo. What does it tell us about Simon's character that he demands anal on the first date, and won't take no for an answer? Cassie's only scene is a pretty good g-g with Brie on a pile of fur coats, which is a nice touch. Diana's only scene is with Nicky, and is more comical than hot. Of Sabrina's scenes, more later.

This film is so good that it would be fun to watch even in a cable-edited version, so the real thing is a real treat. How many porns produced in the last ten years can claim that?

The most beautiful woman in the film is Kandi, and she is wasted. Her first scene is a blowjob with a guy too hung-over to care. In her second, she is in a bar and takes a fancy to the jazz trio. She takes the 3 of them to a back room, and does them. In a Pierre Woodman film, a scene with a luscious cupcake like Kandi and 3 men would burn down the house. Here they look bored. Totally limp.

If what you really like is gonzos, gangbangs, or wall-to-wall, forget this one. If you like good films in which the sex scenes are well integrated into the plot and advance it rather than distract from it, this is a dandy. I'll drop a point for the misuse of Kandi and give this a 9.
